What is PipeSizer?
PipeSizer is a free engineering screening tool that ranks candidate pipe sizes against traceable velocity ranges. It supports different fluids, pipe materials, schedules or dimension ratios, liners, and multiple flow cases.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. PipeSizer requires no account, and its calculations work offline. Optional analytics and update checks require network access.
Can I switch between metric and imperial units?
Yes. Open Settings to choose SI or imperial units. PipeSizer also supports English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
What does the governing flow mean?
When you assess multiple flow cases, the governing flow is the case that most strongly controls the candidate's ranking against the selected velocity range.
Can I save or share a result?
Yes. You can save useful runs on your device and share a result summary through your device's standard share sheet.
What does “Send to Pump Mate” do?
It opens Pump Mate with selected PipeSizer information prefilled so you can continue with a more detailed hydraulic analysis. Pump Mate must be installed for the direct handoff to work.
Can PipeSizer replace an engineering design review?
No. PipeSizer is a preliminary screening aid. Verify final selections against project specifications, applicable codes and standards, manufacturer data, operating conditions, and qualified engineering judgment.
